Tradie EV

Even the most ardent anti-EV foamer must have a breaking point, surely? The online commenter that fumes about not being seen dead in an EV; you know the type. But might the thin end of the wedge be the work vehicle? With fuel getting expensive and possibly hard to get, will the committed petrol/diesel disciple start having impure thoughts about an EV work vehicle? This LDV van is practical, has decent range and a tempting price tag after all. Read on...

Whatever happens to fuel prices over the coming months, maybe it’s time to consider, at very least, the work van/ute. Clocking up high daily kilometres is maybe becoming a cost liability to your business and your customers? You may not like the idea of an EV but you might like the idea of the lower running costs. Sure, there’s the expense of buying an EV but with prices coming down and more competition in the marketplace the EV premium over ICE has reduced, and in some cases represents a saving.

Take this 2025 LDV Edeliver 3. It has a 50kwh battery and 250-350kms of range depending on driving conditions. The new price is $32,990 but this 2025 model with just 5300kms on the clock has an auction guide of just $19500 - $21500. Charge it at home or the office over night and drive it during the day without having to visit a scary fuel station.

Maybe principle or pride will prevent some from taking the plunge, others will suck it up and venture to the dark side. Will you? More details on the van here
