As we all know, Ferraris are fast and sexy. In the early 60s the stunningly beautiful 250GT, with its V12 engine, was able to hit 100kph from a standstill in around 8 seconds, a quick car in its day, and pretty swift even today. In this 2017 488 GTB you’d be going around 200kph by the time the stopwatch hits 8 seconds, and it’ll cost you around half what you’d pay for the classic one. Is it a bargain? No. Can you buy it at Turners? Yes. Read on...
The Ferrari 488GTB replaced the 458, only this time with two turbos strapped to its V8 power-plant. This engine generates 661hp and boasts a 0-100kph time of 3 seconds. And it’ll keep accelerating to 330kph, which is pretty much Formula 1 pace. It seems every new Ferrari must be faster that it’s predecessor, while at the same time the reaction times of the humans that drive them stays the same. With that in mind, Ferrari have incorporated a bunch of driver aids to keep the pilot out of ditches whilst generally making them look good.
Everything about the 488GTB is focused on performance and handling which has seen it win many awards, including Top Gear Magazine Supercar of the year, Motor Trend best drivers car and Jeremy Clarkson’s best Supercar accolade. The design also won the Red Dot ‘Best of the best’ design award. So it’s fair to say that it’s not just a pretty face.
So what will you have to pay to own such a car? The retail market would suggest a 6 figure sum starting with a 3, but as it’s a tender you’ll have to put your best offer in a hope for the best. It has just had a pre-purchase inspection performed by Continental Ferrari as well as a $5000+ service completed. So you’ll be good to go...fast.
You have until 19th May to place your tender on this gorgeous Italian beauty. More details here.
