The system is designed for oil spill response and was mounted on the bow of a small 8 metre vessel – the bracket to attach the skimmer head to the vessel is included but was a custom-built bracket specific to the vessel

The brushes perform like a conveyor belt picking oil from the surface as the vessel advances

The brushes move through a comb that removes the bulk oil which is deposited into a tank

From the tank, the pump on the power pack moves collected oil to the desired storage–often an empty IBC
