Dust Off Your Shoulder Pads – Posh Retro Ragtops - 31st January, 2017

Turners Tauranga are going large on convertibles at the moment with seven interesting examples for sale. These two posh Germans from a time of shoulder pads, perms and white jeans caught my eye. Once the domain of people in the ruthless pursuit of money and power they will now likely appeal to those in the roofless pursuit of a sunny retro ride...Read more.

Electric Dreams - 25th January, 2017

The Nissan Leaf - or “Leading environmentally friendly affordable car” to use its full name (shouldn’t it be LEAFC then?) - is a fully electric car. Sure it looks like a Tiida with the nose of a bottom feeding fish but what it lacks in style and excitement it makes up for with its frugality. But the Citroen C4 has some cool features, impeccable World Rallying credentials and, in the case of this 2010 example at Turners Whangarei, a very low price expectation.

Caught in the Crossfire - 10th January, 2017

From the odd-ball files comes the Chrysler Crossfire, a car that was literally caught in the crossfire of an unhappy relationship between Chrysler and Daimler (owner of Mercedes Benz). It never stood a chance. But the Crossfire is a better car than most people remember despite Jeremy Clarkson damning it when describing it as looking like a dog having a poo. Now you can’t un-see that image, can you? But maybe it’s time to re-evaluate the sporty Crossfire, and Turners Wellington can help.
