Fair Weather Bavaria - 28th February, 2017

With any luck the best of this summer is yet to come. So - at the risk of attracting the ire of some readers by featuring a car with a ‘buy it now’ price and with the risk of that car being sold before you’ve had a chance to read this - we have to feature this eye catching BMW Z4. It may have been around for 13 years but this Z4 still looks young and fresh and has lived a very sheltered existence. Read more...

Do you want to Sell Your Classic Car? - 24th February, 2017

Is your garage being cluttered up with an old Porsche 911 or Ford Mustang? Or maybe an old Holden project that never got off the ground after buying it with great intentions of it becoming your daily driver? Well now might be a good time to cash it up at the Turners national classic car auction being held online from 10th March.

Mightiest Merc of them all? - 22nd February, 2017

Mercedes is pretty much an apex predator when it comes to car brands and at the top of the Benz range is the S-Class. So if a C-Class Merc is a Mako shark then the S-Class is a Great White. And at the top of the S-Class range is the S-500 (yeah there’s an S-600 but that’s like the mutant shark in Jaws 3). The S-Class is more than just a luxury car, it’s the car that debuts Mercedes latest technology. It’s also SERIOUSLY expensive. But here’s a chance to get a discount on a near new one that’s barely worked up a sweat. Read on...

When the Mini Was Mini – 20th February, 2017

Back when Minis were mini and Maxis were big you knew what you were getting – the clue was in the name. It may be faster, safer and more comfortable but it sure isn’t mini. Luckily Turners Christchurch has a mini Mini for sale...read more.

Foxy Boxster or Gorgeous Alfa - 13th February, 2017

Two of the better looking cars at Turners right now are a 2010 Porsche Boxster and a 2008 Alfa Romeo 159 wagon. Two very different cars but both drop dead gorgeous. But strangely both car are somewhat maligned by many car people. In the case of the Porsche it’s the fact it’s seen as a lesser Porsche, more for poseurs than true car fans. With the Alfa it’s the reputation for poor build quality and a habit of leaving its owners stranded. But what are they really like?

Off the Scale - 9th February, 2017

We do like vehicles with mammoth mileage. There’s something heroic about the achievement and they are usually tidier than vehicles with a fraction of the kilometres under their belt. But what is especially heroic about this 2007 Volkswagen Crafter is the fact the company that built it didn’t seem to think it could achieve what it has done. You see, the odometer only goes to 999,999kms and then stops.

Integra Type ARRRRRRRRRH! - 2nd February, 2017

Destined to become a future performance classic the Honda Integra Type R, with its screaming V-TEC engine, is one to keep an eye on. Finding one that hasn’t been thrashed within an inch of its life won’t be easy though. This one at Turners Palmerston North doesn’t look like it has had an easy life, but - apart from the black bonnet (fashionable a few years ago) and aftermarket air filter and rear lights- it looks fairly original. You’ll want to inspect it carefully but the price guide of $4500 - $5000 makes good sense.
